Photographers John McGraw and Gej Jones Announce Gallery Showing at the REO Art Alley in Lansing, MI on June 8, 2013

Lansing, MI - Mid-Michigan based photographers John McGraw and Gej Jones have teamed up to showcase their creative endeavors at the REO Art Alley in Lansing, MI on June 8, 2013 from 6-10 p.m. The Art Alley is located at 1133 S. Washington Ave., 48910. McGraw and Jones have a long history together: Jones is a retired teacher from East Lansing Public Schools and McGraw was a student of Jones’ back in the early 1990’s. This gallery showing will be the second one for McGraw and the debut for Jones.

In the last two years, over 25 photos by McGraw have been featured on cnn.com as the “Travel Photo of the Day.” In recent months, McGraw was interviewed on Headline News for his photo’s of the Right To Work protest at the Capitol building in Lansing, MI. Headline News also featured a segment with his photo’s from his travels in New Orleans this year. In March 2013, McGraw signed a licensing deal with the company Fathead, who are selling a large photo sticker of his amazing photo of the Detroit skyline. McGraw specializes in photography that showcases beautiful landscapes throughout the United States. McGraw comments, “I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the United States. One thing I love about this country is you can get in the car and leave from Detroit and within a day you can be in New York City, Washington D.C., Bourbon Street in New Orleans, walking through Wormsloe State park near Savannah, or deep into the Smoky Mountains.”

Gej Jones was a teacher at East Lansing High School for more than 35 years. He also coached softball, skiing and golf for more than 42 seasons. He is known as, ‘my teacher or my coach’ or ‘my child’s teacher or my child’s coach’ by thousands of his students, athletes, and their parents, but most never knew Gej Jones the photographer. Jones says, “I’ve been taking photographs for nearly 60 years. My first camera was an old box camera that I found. I bought some film from the local drugstore and started taking pictures. The results fascinated me.”

Jones has photographed parts of the US Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Italy and Australia. You will see his wonderful photos that he has captured during his world travels at the Art Alley gallery showing.

McGraw and Jones will have a variety of large, medium, and small scale prints available for viewing and purchase at their gallery showing. Admission is free and open to the public.
